Hi Everyone!

This week the drawing prompt in the chat section was about Gesture Drawing. I’ve been writing a workbook about Gesture Drawing, and so today I wanted to share it with my monthly tier subscribers, before I publish it online.

This workbook includes a working definition of Gesture Drawing, an explanation of the application and purpose of this technique and ways to practically apply it in your own drawing.

In this workbook, we will explore the technique of gesture drawing so that you can learn to draw the figure with much more freedom and expression. Firstly, we will define exactly what a gesture drawing is. Then, we’ll talk about timeframes. Next, we’ll discuss what the point is of doing these short drawings. And finally we’ll look at the techniques you can use to start exploring this responsive way of drawing in your own work.

Every week I write here about Figure Drawing. The monthly tier includes access to the chat and to upcoming events and live sessions. If you are able, consider becoming a paid subscriber to access the weekly prompts and drawing critiques. If you’d like a 1-1 coaching session, then book a call with me on Superpeer
